Biography
Michele Bianco

Michele Bianco graduated in accordion at the top of his class, with a score of 110/110 with honors and special mention, at the Music Conservatory “T. Schipa” of Lecce, in the class of Maestro Germano Scurti.
There are many international successes that crown Michele Bianco’s artistic career, obtained in the solo and chamber music fields: with the Lecce Accordion Project he obtains the 1st Absolute Prize at the prestigious international competition “41st PIF Città di Castelfidardo” in the chamber music category; with the Sirius Accordion Trio he obtains victory at the “74th Coupe Mondiale” held in Munich, Germany; won the “10th Edition of the Concurso Internacional de Música de Cámara Anton Garcia Abril” (Spain); won the “Alberto Burri” National Competition for chamber music groups in Città di Castello (Umbria); 1st Absolute Prize at the Marcello Pontillo International Competition of Musical Interpretation held in Florence (Tuscany); 1st Absolute Prize at the Trophée Mondial De L’Accordéon in the chamber music category.
In the soloist field, he obtained several first prizes and topped the podium in the most coveted national and international music competitions, to name but a few: 1st Absolute Prize at the “Accordion Star International Competition” 2021; Winner of the 4th edition of the prestigious international competition for classical accordion “ACCORDÈONS-NOUS” held in Mons, Belgium, 2nd Prize at the “74th Coupe Mondiale” in Senior Classical Category held in Munich in 2021; Winner of the 12th edition of the National Arts Award in solo accordion at the “L. D’Annunzio” in Pescara (prize announced by MIUR); 3rd Prize in the Premio category at the “47th PIF Città di Castelfidardo” 2022.
In 2017 he was awarded the “Don Sandro Dell’Era” prize for best student at the “T. Schipa” Conservatory of Music in Lecce during the prize-giving evening held in Vernole (LE).
He has performed in important festivals, to name a few: Museo Teatrale alla Scala di Milano (Milan), Festival Contemporary Accordion held at the Conservatorio “S. Cecilia” in Rome (RM), “Muzeul Municipiului” in Bucharest for the “Youth of Music”, Fadiesis Accordion Festival held in Matera, the “Composers+” Festival in Lithuania, “Ascoli Piceno Festival”, “Balkan Contemporary Music Festival” in Valona (Albania), 30th Accordion Festival held in Kragujevac, Serbia.
In 2019, he records and publishes with the Maffucci Music record label the disc “Gogol” with the accordion trio “Lecce Accordion Project” dedicated to specific literature for Bayan trio with composers from Eastern Europe. The music criticism in the disc’s booklet is by M° Francesco Libetta.
In 2021, he released his first solo album for classical accordion, bayan, entitled “Silhouetten” published by the record label “Da Vinci Publishing”. The music criticism in the disc’s booklet is by Prof. Giacomo Fronzi.
In the same year, he published with M° Germano Scurti the volume II “Technique for Accordion” for the refinement of technical qualities, dedicated to the study of arpeggios. The work is published with the publishing house Ars Spoletium – Publishing and Recording.
The association “Promozione Arte” awarded the “Premio Orpheus 2022” for the best accordion production of Classical Music to Michele Bianco for the CD “Silhouetten” published with Da Vinci Classic.
He is currently engaged in an intense concert activity as a soloist and with the accordion trio “Sirius Accordion Trio”.

He won three important awards at the “Città di Castelfidardo” International Competition, one of the most important competitions in the accordion world: 1st Absolute Prize in the chamber music category, 3rd Prize in the classical soloists section “no age limit, category D”; 3rd Prize in the “Premio Category”;
1st Absolute Prize at the 20th edition of the prestigious Val Tidone International Prize (PC);
1st Absolute Prize at the 12th edition of the National Arts Prize in solo accordion at the “L. D’Annunzio” Conservatory of Pescara;
3rd Absolute Prize and Audience Prize at the 23rd edition of the “Gaetano Zinetti” International Music Prize in Verona;
1st Absolute 1st Prize at the “Accordion Star International Competition 2021” organised and held in America by ASI President Sergei Teleshev, thirty participants in the senior category from 14 countries worldwide;
1st Absolute Prize at the 14th “Città di Piove di Sacco” National Competition of Musical Performances;
1st Absolute Prize at the 4th edition of the prestigious international competition for classical accordion “ACCORDÈONS-NOUS” held in Mons, Belgium;
2nd Absolute Prize in the “Senior Classic” category, the most coveted category for accordionists at the “74th Accordion World Cup” held in Munich, Germany.
Chamber Music Awards:
1st Absolute Prize at the 3rd Edition of the “Marcello Pontillo” International Competition of Musical Interpretation in Florence;
1st Absolute Prize at the prestigious national competition “Alberto Burri, Festival delle Nazioni” held in città di Castello (PG)

1st Prize at the “74th Coupe Mondiale International Accordion Competition” held in Munich in 2021 (the first Italian chamber music ensemble to win this prize);
1st Prize at the “71st Trophée Mondial De L’Accordéon”.
1st Prize at the prestigious international competition “46th International Accordion Prize City of Castelfidardo” obtained with the “Lecce Accordion Project”;
2nd Prize with the Lecce Accordion Project at the XII edition of the “Premio Nazionale delle Arti” at the Aligheri Theatre in Ravenna in the chamber music section (competition organised by the Ministry of Education, University and Research);
3rd Prize at the 25th edition of the “Luigi Nono International Chamber Music Competition” in Turin;
